BAPE (R) USA WEBSITE LAUNCH

In the last few months, BAPE (R) has really opened its doors to the markets including Zozotown and the Bape Pirate Store. However, perhaps the most noteworthy unveiling is an all new BAPE (R) USA website which will include not only English updates but a full-fledged webstore as well. For a brand that for the longest time was virtually inaccessible through 1st party mediums, this really changes things up. The site can be visited at US.BAPE.com.

The Nuvis is the eleventh signature concept car to be designed at the company's California Design Center in Irvine, Calif. In addition to showcasing the brand's cutting-edge capabilities, Nuvis also hints at a possible design direction for a future-generation crossover, blending attributes of a tall urban car and a premium utility vehicle.

Consistent with Hyundai's pledge to lead all brands in U.S. fuel economy by 2015, Nuvis is powered by Hyundai's Hybrid Blue Drive architecture, which uses breakthrough lithium polymer battery technology.

MAISON MARTIN MARGIELA HOME LINE

The venerable Maison Martin Margiela brand is set to branch out in a lifestyle driven project with the upcoming launch of their Home Line. Long having created custom houseware-style pieces to enhance his retail locations, a full-out launch into a Home Line will offer buyers the ability to re-create the essence of MMM in the confines of their own home. Among the initial launch products are wallpaper, bookshelves, lamps and carpets. Some talk has also suggested pairing MMM’s design with various hotels and restaurants to further promote a strong visual aesthetic.

The Taliesin Mod.FabTM is an example of simple, elegant, and sustainable living in the desert. The one-bedroom, 600-square-foot prototype residence relies on panelized construction to allow for speed and economy on site or in a factory. It can be connected to utilities or be "unplugged," relying on low-consumption fixtures, rainwater harvesting, greywater re-use, natural ventilation, solar orientation, and photovoltaics to reduce energy and water use. The structure is dimensioned and engineered to be transportable via roadway.

The Taliesin Mod.FabTM was designed and built by graduate and undergraduate students at the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture with the faculty guidance of Michael P. Johnson and Jennifer Siegal, project manager Christian Butler, recent M.Arch graduate, and assistant project manager Nick Mancusi, current BAS student.
