JACQUES CARLU'S MARTIN MARGIELA DESIGNED MAISON
The Designer that never allows himself to be photoed has allowed his design of the Parisian apartment of Jacques Carlu (architect of the Palais de Chaillot, built in the thirties) home to embrace a few of them. You can definitely see the resemblance of his aesthetic.
Martin Margiela turned the space into an art installation. Commissioned by Elle Decoration, the designer's team transformed the apartment into a party pad (albeit with most of the furniture covered in the house's signature white muslin), complete with empty bottles and Champagne flutes, trompe l'oeil wallpaper, and confetti strewn all over the floor. The idea is to treat viewers to a scene that looks like the aftermath of an epic bash.
